Sacrament of Confirmation

This section is for baptized CATHOLICS seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation

Non-Catholics should look for information about OCIA.

"The sacrament of Confirmation is first and foremost an act of God’s initiative in giving the

candidates the gift of the Holy Spirit who helps them to be more authentic disciples of Jesus by bestowing spiritual gifts. Confirmation is the completion of Christian Initiation, of the candidates’ sharing in Christ’s Paschal Mystery, which culminated in the sending of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Confirmation, then, should be  understood in the context of Christian initiation, and not as a method of marking the “coming of age” of a candidate, since the sacrament of confirmation is in fact administered to people from infancy through adulthood."

- Archbishop J. Peter Sartain, quoted in Archbishop Paul Etienne's 2019 "Decree on Confirmation Policies."

For Catholic children and teens

This section is for baptized Catholic students in Middle School and High School who are interested in getting Confirmed.

Parents should contact Monica Rodrigues by email at the earliest convenience to discuss your student's options and eligibility, and to get registration information.

Confirmation is such a special sacrament in the Catholic faith. This is when the students in our community can make the decision to choose the faith to be theirs for the rest of their lives.

In order to enroll in the Confirmation program, the student needs to first have a minimum of one year in Faith Formation / Youth Group prior to the start of the Confirmation classes. In their second year of Faith Formation / Youth Group, parents may inquire about the eligibility of your student for Confirmation. This is a separate meeting from Youth Group, and the expectation is that the student will be attending both meetings as they continue to grow in their faith.
