Holy Disciples and Our Lady of Good Counsel parishes located in Puyallup and Eatonville, WA are seeking a Pastoral Assistant for Administration and Facilities(PAA).  This position ministers in both parishes, with the office located at Holy Disciples, Puyallup. 


The successful candidate will have a good understanding of systems and processes of parish life and have strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.


The PAA is part of the pastoral leadership team and is responsible for administration, office personnel, finances, facilities, and technology. This position oversees budgeting, annual Stewardship campaigns and a wide variety of administrative responsibilities. The PAA also helps to administer daily operations of grounds, maintenance, cleaning, safety, and security.


A Bachelors in business, or related field along with 5+ years of experience is desired. This is a full-time exempt position with full benefits.  Salary DOQ.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Pastoral Assistant for Administration


              40 Hours per Week 

              Salary Grade Z1-12

  

        REPORTS TO:  Pastoral Associate

 

  • POSITION PURPOSE: In direct collaboration with the Pastor, Parish Staff, and People of Holy Disciples Church, the Pastoral Assistant for Administration (PAA) contributes to the proclamation of the Gospel and the building up of the Kingdom of God by assisting the Pastor’s leadership and ministry.  

I. MAJOR ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  •          Directs fundraising activities such as Parish Stewardship, Planned Giving, capital campaigns and archdiocesan campaigns.
  •          Manages the financial resource systems of the parish.
  •          Assures preparation and administration of capital and operating budgets for the parish.
  •          Assures accurate and confidential record keeping systems.
  •          Evaluates office equipment and technology and manages the up-grade or installation of new equipment or systems.
  •          Maintains all IT oversight including troubleshooting hardware, software and internet deficiencies and arranges for upgrades and service as needed.
  •          Directs the preparation and upkeep of asset inventory.
  •          Directs construction and maintenance functions for the parish.
  •          Directs management of all parish facilities and grounds.
  •          Supervises all parish clerical, administrative, development and maintenance staff members providing guidance, training, development, and corrective action and deals with/resolves other employment issues. Assists in the recruiting, assessment and hiring of new employees.
  •          Manages the Human Resources function and its sub-functions including salary administration, recruiting, employee relations, training and communication.
  •          Serves as staff resource person for various consultative groups including Discipleship Council, Finance Council, Building Committee and Maintenance Committee.  
  •          Serves as staff to Finance Council.
  •          Serves as webmaster overseeing the updating and development of our parish websites. 

 

II  ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS

 

  1. OVERSEEING ARCHDIOCESAN COMPLIANCE
    • Attendance at Archdiocesan meetings that assist with understanding and remaining current on Chancery expectations.
    • Regular review of communication from the Archdiocese that assists in our adherence to expected parish practices.
  2. ATTENDANCE AT PARISH MEETINGS
  •          Full participation at all meetings of Parish Staff is required.
  •          Regular attendance at Discipleship Council meetings is expected.

      3. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  •          Maintain a level of knowledge and skills required for this position through reading appropriate materials, and attending workshops and conventions.

       4. OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
